Juliet's Balcony is pleased to offer our customers a creative solution to your individual needs. Are you planning a wedding, graduation, baby shower, holiday party, or perhaps a retirement bash? Would you like to invite and honor your guests with the quality and personal touch of beautiful, handmade papercrafts? If you'd like something different, something you haven't seen at the stationary store or at your local events, then Juliet's Balcony would love to hear from you. We cordially welcome you into a special relationship with our artist, who can design and tailor her products to meet your personal tastes. Consider us for save-the-dates, invitations, programs, place cards, favors, menus, gift bags, etc... we create much more than greeting cards! Our only request is that you contact us early to book your order. We require at least three weeks notice for 1-10 items, one month for 10-50 items, two months for 50-150 items, or three months for 150+ items. About the Artist
Juliet Drake Hossain considers herself to be an artist of life. She has expressed herself through many avenues since she was a young child, exploring performance arts, visual arts, creative writing, culinary arts and beyond. Her mother recalls Juliet often returning from early elementary school, only to excitedly ask, "What's our art project for today?" After attending a communications arts program through high school, Juliet graduated with a BFA in Performance from Hofstra University. She currently lives in San Antonio, Texas with her husband, a Psychiatrist and Captain in the US Air Force.
Although Juliet enjoyed making various greeting cards when she was a child, the road to Juliet's Balcony did not appear until April of 2003. While attending a painting conference in the Pocono mountains, she discovered many of the card-making techniques she uses today. Juliet found the techniques very natural and the results pleasing to the eye, and was thrilled to begin creating unique, artistic and marketable products. At first she made cards for her own family and friends, but soon started selling them on a commercial level. Today she makes greeting cards for all purposes, wedding/special event products (invitations, place cards, favors, menus, gift bags, etc.) and a variety of custom papercrafts.
The Creation Process
In a perfect world, Juliet's Balcony would be able to mass produce cards, while still maintaining each card's distinctive, hand-made quality. Both fortunately and unfortunately, each card takes considerable time to create... but we believe the results are always worth it, and we think that you'll agree. Every card is a special piece of art. Juliet works with oil, acrylic, pastel and watercolor paints, dry and wet embossing techniques, plus many forms of papercrafting, producing cards for every taste. |
